You are not talking about DVD or VCD players or recorders. A VCR (video cassette recorder) is very rare, and almost extinct. I doubt you can easily find one in the usual shops. I was at Carrefour today, and I don't think I saw any VCR there too.

Do you need a brand new one? If you do, try popping by some local neighborhood shops. Some of them carry old stocks that they are unable to dispose of. You may be able to find a VCR.

If you have some video cassettes, and merely need a recorder to play them, perhaps consider getting a second-hand one. Enter the search word in Yahoo auctions, or eBay Singapore auctions. You may be able to get a really good deal sometimes. Otherwise, visit the TV/VCR repair shops. You can buy refurbished ones from them.

Since the whole world is phasing out video cassettes, I suggest you do not waste too much money to get a good or new one. Cheers.

There are many places to get it if you want a brand new one. You can go Best Denki, Courts, or some neighbourhood electrical shops.

If you are looking for 2nd hand ones, you can find it at yahoo Auctions or look out for these shops in the yellow pages.
