I like the one you chose, but also the black gold choice (first on the first link you gave).

I have a couple of these, and I absolutely LOVE them! They're pretty and versatile, because they can be worn in several different styles of necklace, as a bracelet, or even as an anklet! I don't think they look cheap at all. Instead, I think they're rather dressy, but not too fancy, and they're certainly unique.

Honestly, if this is a present for a girlfriend, go for it! Unless she's really high-maintenance (I hope not, for your sake), she will likely appreciate it no matter the price tag. You're putting a lot of loving thought and consideration into this. That's far more important than the number of digits after the $. If she's down-to-earth and loves your personality more than your pocketbook, she'll love this! Just make sure you consider her taste in this one. Is she a silver or gold girl? Black stones or pearls? Think about what jewelry she wears most often so you can make an informed decision.
