Right now foriegn policy is 95% aimed at keeping oil at free market status and prices. Whatever else the USA does abroad is based on the unincumbered trade of oil from any source at world market price. There's some little stuff going on like drug interdiction in Asia and South America and AIDS relief to Africa, but that's all sideshow.

well, we have a business policy with mexico, that means we buy cheap stuff from them and export all our jobs over there so the big corporations dont have to follow environmental rules and pay decent wages. We have an open door policy, mostly one way since no one wants to go there from here they wouldnt be treated well at all, we allow millions of illegals to immigrate here. We give them money and military help, and they pretend to try to stop the flow of drugs coming here from there. ther eis more to it, but this is simple and short and a good place to start.
