hmm for romances, that's a hard one, i can provide an oldie, it's by Takeshi Inque (i hope i'm spelling that write), its' called Slam Dunk, the story is basically about a boy falling hopeless in love with a girl who loves Basketball. But i since your into, i'm guessing Shojo, i would recommend almost everything from the authors of Clamp, they're known for Tsubasa Chronicles, and Card Captor Sakura.
