If you could help me it would be greatly appreciated. I have been searching for hours and can't seem to find the answers to the following:
The german conquest of greece was facilitated by the conquest of ?
Through what island groups did the Allies begin their counteroffensive against Japan?
Through what regions on the Southeast Asia mainland were Allied attacks launched against Japan?

I would greatly appreciate answers to ANY of these questions!

1- Crete and Yugoslavia (Crete saw Germanys first and Last use of Para troopers during WW2)
2-The Marianas (ie.,Tinian,Tarawa,Gaum Saipan)
3-China & Burma (Look up Merrills Marauders for an interesting Story!)

1. First, the "German conquest of Greece" was a rescue mission. Italy had invaded Greece, but they were losing. So Germany sent in troops to assist their ally. So the invasion was facilitated by the italians taking most of the rest of the Balkans first.

2. The Allies advanced initially on Guadalcanal, in the Solomon Islands. After the islands in the southern Pacific were either taken, or cut off the took the Phillipines, (at MacArthur's insistence)

3. The Allied attacks against Japan on the mainland were launch through Burma.

1: Crete; but the breakout at Thermopylae caused a cascade effect

2: Marshall / Gilbert Islands groups (Tarawa, anyone?) But can't forget the Solomons

3: I agree with the others. Burma would be a good start.
