The lock icon does not show up on the bottom of my screen when I log into secure web sites. What's up?

I'm concerned that it is risky to purchase anything on line using credit card info if my internet connection is not properly secured.

If you are using IE 7 the lock Icon is located at the end of the Addrerss bar before the Refresh button.

any site for purcahes cc info etc..should be a secured site and it will tell you so, dont take chances on unsecured sites. do you have a firewall and virus protection also? if you have a firewal and virus portection your part is secured but the particular website could be unsecure. becareful and good luck,.
