The factual part.

Tell them that you were wrong, the contraband is not yours. That you did not lie, and you have no further explanation until you have more time to think.

The moral part.

The moral part can be solved using utilitarian methods, this is the greatest good for the greatest number, --which if you are honest includes yourself and any harm that may come to your character.

Things you need to consider--
Does the contraband hurt people?
How bad is the consequence related to peers?
How bad is the consequence related to authority?
Do you have any implied responsibility to take the fall?
Does authority act with compassion and justice?
What effect will my decision have on my character?
How will my decision effect the culture of the community?
What is the scope if this problem, e.g. is it life changing, will I get over it in a week?

What is the right thing to do is that which does the least harm. It may tale a bit of magic to compare these things for you since youth has yet to develop a moral compass that is strait and true. You may need to use your gut. Is it just a bit of undigested pork or should I do this?

There is no person more despicable than a rat.
