I'm 32 and just got braces. My teeth aren't that bad and my ortho estimated my treatment time as 8 months. I recently decided to start a job search. Will my braces (regular metal type) affect my chance at being considered for jobs? I am currently in lower management, I oversee one full-time employee and one part-time student employee.

It really shouldn't. If it does it would be discrimination.

No, having braces on your teeth will not hurt your chances of getting a job any more than having leg braces would.

Employers are not allowed to discriminate.

Your braces, by law cannot be used against you. Dont even worry about it. The only person that has a problem with them is you. The employer will not care because they simply cannot care about that, its against the law. So act normal and talk normal, dont mention the braces because it really doesnt matter anyway.

I personally would not care. But the way the world works people would probably not take you as serious wearing the braces. It just sets that kind of tone.
