I read it because I had read his 'L.A. Confidential' and seen the movie (great book, great movie - killer cast). Since I had liked that one so much, I bought 'The Black Dahlia'.

What exactly is in the "newer version"? I checked Amazon, and there's no mention of anything other than a new afterward by Ellroy. It's a great book--got me hooked on Ellroy, and I don't read much in the way of crime/mystery fiction.

It's a fascinating case. I've read at least 3 books on the case over the past 20 years and I'd still read another one.

To see if there's as much nudity in the book as there was in the movie.
Thanks for asking!
