The book was either written by two men or the author talked about him and his colleague. It was a non-fiction, kind of science or philosophical book. The first couple chapters were in regards to the dead sea scrolls and how the two of them went around the world gathering information about the scrolls as a beginning to their research. I think it had a blue-ish paperback cover and about 500 pages.
It is driving me crazy that I cannot think of the title.

did you try a google search?

You can type in keywords like:

Book titles?+non-fiction+science+philisophical+dead sea scrolls+research

Did a search and this is what I came up with:

Treadwell's:
http://www.treadwells-london.com/bookslist.asp?type=authorLetter%25param=H

The Thinklings:
http://thinklings.org/?post_id=2048

Online Used Books and Out of Print Books Finder BibliOZ.com
http://www.biblioz.com/

This search was googled as:

non-fiction books/dead sea scrolls

WORD Bookstore Australia | Advanced Search... Books - Current Issues, Books - Dating, Books - Dead Sea Scrolls ... Children - Intermediate Reading (4th-6th Grade), Children - Non Fiction ...
www.word.com.au/advancedsearch.aspx - 72k - Cached - Similar pages

These searches were googled as:

non-fiction+science+dead sea scrolls

This site has the following bibliography at the end:

Bibliography

Eamon, William. Science and the Secrets of Nature: Books of Secrets in Medieval and Early Modern Culture. Princeton, 1994.

Ferguson, John K. Bibliographical Notes on Histories of Inventions and Books of Secrets. 2 vols. London, 1959.

I hope this helps. It's the best I could come up with.

Not the Dead Sea Scrolls, right? That's too obvious. Maybe the Nag Hammadi Library in English?

Ummm... Random amazon search produced this for me:
http://www.amazon.com/Meaning-Dead-Sea-Scrolls-Understanding/dp/0060684658/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/002-5651246-3013608?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1173324406&sr=1-3

480 pages, written by two men? Hope this helped.
