Take her temperature. Check for teeth comming in. Perhaps she's gassy or constipated. There's so many things. But that's the order in which I check things out.

Why would you put a child into Time Out for crying? How old is she? It sounds like she is just at that age where she is more attached to her father than her mother. That is okay and certainly does not warrant punishment. She will probably grow out of it soon. Until then, I suggest you spend short amounts of quality time with her when she is calm. If it contiues, speak to her pediatrician.

P.S.- No child should be in Time Out for an hour.

This is not totally clear. How old is she? Babies are attached to their Mamas. It's totally normal! My baby does the same thing. I make sure he is held by lots of people and comfortable with them, but there are certain times when he just needs to be held by me and nursed by me. Time out?!?! For a baby? Babies never do anything to manipulate us or upset us, they simply express their needs. Our job as parents is to meet their needs. To punish her for having needs and feeling the way she does is cruel and will not 'teach' her anything other than insecurity and mistrust--she needs to know that the people who are the centre of her world, the people she is 100% dependent upon are going to meet her needs. Otherwise, abandonment issues, insecurity, fear, confusion, etc. happen.

Just hold her! And let her still have lots of Daddy time so she knows it's okay and learns to be comforted by him as well. Help him to develop his own nurturing caring way.

OMG The amount of time for a time out should correspond with the age of the child. Example a 2yr old is put in time out for 2mins.

there is no reason why you should have put your child in a time out for crying. was she crying because she missed you? or because she wanted her daddy all to herself? if she hadnt seen you in a while and was upset because she missed you, then you need to let her know that you have not abandoned her and that you dont feel well enough to play. children are not dumb and they know when you are not there. just try to talk to her, and please dont punish her for her devotion to you.

especially for not one hour! your child should only be in time out according to their age!

How old is she?

1 year old? That is normal, and will end as fast as it started.
