1 - Ignorance.

2 - Weak mind.

3 - Poorly educated.

4 - Would rather make noise than make sense (especially common sense).

There's lots of other reasons, of course, but those should set you on the road.

Most people refer to someone as a Hitler in terms of being a tyrant, or someone who could potentially commit a genocide.

Hitler was a Pagan Occultist for starters...So, if you can match anyone who is a Pagan in politics today, that would help. There are probably more than a handful in both the RNC and DNC - different Robes, Same Team.

Well, this went over much better than the way I phrased my question.

Hitler was Hitler. Conservatives and Liberals are a far sight from Hitler.

I hate to Say this, but I think this is kind of a Jewish thing...Hitler was the worst thing that could happen to a people.. and for them when someone is bad, they call them Hitler or Hiterlike.. it is the worst insult they can come up with.

I only say this because i worked for a company that was run by a Jewish couple, very nice people.. but when he got mad, boy everybody was Hitler. So it is just an expression of anger, I guess.

How about if the President was using Hitlerian tactics?

These might include, but not be limited to, deliberately lying to the voters, falsifying records, invading other countries on dishonest pretexts, trashing political opponents and their wives, and using a supporter owned media to justify improper policies.

I would agree, however, that comparing the current president to Hitler would be extreme. The Vice President is another matter.

Man,Hitler is quite the topic tonight!

To answer your question,Hitler is still the ultimate political bogeyman to Americans.

When a politician appears particularly evil,Hitler is the comparison we automatically make.

But I would never compare George Bush to Hitler.

Hitler could actually finish a sentence....

Because he is the ULTIMATE evil and he set the standard for what all evil in our world shall be judged,in my opinion. And I think that Osama Bin Laden and the whole Islamic Fundamentalist movement stinks just as bad as the Nazi movement did in the years before WWII.And like Hitler,we must not appease these morons!!!! Or we will regret it!!!!

It baffles the mind, doesn't it?! Ignore the illogical Liberals. They are just trying to get under our skin. Of course there is no resemblance of anyone now living, to Hitler, except for some radical Islamic terrorists running loose.

Pure hatred & a desire to trivialize Hitler & what he did. Those who make such comparisons are evil.

I don't think anyone views it as a serious comparison. It is more a way to antagonize the other side.

And it usually works.
