The 95-96 Chicago Bulls led by MJ, Pippen and Rodman were the first team in NBA history to reach 70 wins. They ended the regular season with a 72-10 win-loss record. Of course, they eventually won the championship.

The 1995-96 Chicago Bulls went 72-10. I think that was MJ's first season back out of retirement.

Chicago Bulls
they went 72-10
I think if the Mavs didn't lose the first four games they'd easily break that record
