Ok, I wash clothes sometimes during the week because I run out of white shirts i wear under my clothes. My mother took the laundry soap out of the wash room because she doesnt want us washing clothes during the week. Is this fair, or unfair ?

And it isnt an income situation, she is a high rank in the military and makes a six figure salary.

Well...perhaps you can ask her WHY she doesn't want you to wash mid-week. Warning: Approach in a non-confrontational way or she'll probably get very defensive.

If it's just a soap thing, then go out and buy your own soap.

Are you only washing YOUR things? Why not fill the machine up with other whites that your family wears? Of course the job is only half done. It would stand to reason that you would have to dry and fold all of them.

On the other hand if your mom is worried about wear and tear on the machine, I'm afraid I'm at a loss as to how to overcome this. (I assume you're relatively young and going to school takes a priority over making an income.)

Is there a reason she doesn't want you washing in mid-week -- like maybe you are only washing a few clothes a t a time instead of a full load?
Do you run the washer late at night when others can't sleep?
I can't imagine that she just took the soap from the laundry room for no reason. Talk to her about why she did it, maybe that will help you understand. If not, maybe you can buy your own laundry soap.

That is really stupid about not being able to wash mid week if my dad did that i would never be able to wash cloths cause he does his cloths on saturday my brother on sunday and i can never wash cloths unless i get up at 5:30 in the morning befor my dad and put cloths in the wash so personaly i would think that unfair but you could always buy your own soap she can't take that away from her

Wow...uh...that's sounding like it's definitely her trying to exhibit control over you in a way that is borderline abuse. My grandfather did something similar by taking the doors off of all the bathrooms and bedrooms in the house saying that nobody needed privacy.
My advice for the situation: Don't go buy your own soap because that will just anger her because you'll still be using her laundry room. Instead, take your clothes to the laundrymat and wash them there.
Good luck!

Unfair. buy more shirts or ask her to keep up with the laundry if she wont ask you do. Another thing that works is to save an empty laundry detergent container and take the new one and put half in the old empty container now fill them both up with water. I know this sounds bad but no one will ever know. I use this trick all the time to save money. It works you can have your own detergent and not cost you any money!

First of all have you asked your mother why she won't allow you to do laundry? Is it because you are washing one or two things at a time and it's basically wasting water, soap, electricity, or is it a power play with her? Not sure what her reasoning is, but if my daughter wanted to do some laundry I would openly welcome that idea!

This sounds like a classic power struggle. Did she forbid you to do laundry or just to consume soap? Buy your own detergent, do your laundry and see what happens. If next day you find the water or the washer locked out somehow, you'll get the message.
Don't despair, this is a struggle that you will ultimately win because she will die before you do.

that sounds rediculous to not let you wash clothes during the week! ive never heard of such nonsense! i think its really unfair if you ask me! since she was in the military it seems she has quite a different way of doing things...im sorry! its good that you are wanting to wash your clothes, i guess you have no choice but to go to a laundromat.
