I agree with the 1st reply -- Close your eyes and try to picture a stray dog wandering up to your house. Do you smell something? Do you feel sorry for him? Do you want to take care of him? You can do this. Just try really hard to put yourself in the situation.

1.your excited that a dog came and you see if it has a coller
2.you wonder if the dog has a home and is lost
3.you dont approach it because it could be mean
4.you call it towards you to see how friendly it is
5.you notice how beat up the dog looks
6.when you pet it you notice that the dog hasnt been bathed in a long time
7.it does that little noise that dogs do when its hurt or happy
8.you notice that the dog has a weird odor of some sort
9.the dog runs happily to you because it has someone to give it attention
10.you keep it and find it a home

You can't do that on your own??? Think about what would happen, how you'd feel if a stray dog wandered up to your house.
