Our Xbox (not 360) freezes now and then? Sometimes a message comes up sayin' damaged or dirty disc. Is there anything on the market that would compensate for this without havin' to take it in to a so-called professional? Like Microsoft ain't got enough bucks as it is, now there wantin' to charge me close to a $100 to fix and out of date product - I don't think so!! Any assistance is appreciated. And no I'm not in the market for a 360.

I had that problem with an Xbox some one found near a dumpster. Was working fine but lately has been having that error. I found a good web site that has info on fixing it yourself, I have done some of the things but haven't tested it out yet...

if it is old I'll recommend a new x-box (too bad you don't want a 360) there is no cheap way to get it fixed, (or maybe if you find someone like a friend) but people are starting to sell those for like $30 so... fixing consles just isn't fair! microsoft charged me like $100 to fix my 360 (red lights of death!!)
