Be confident that you can do the job, remember since you already had an interview with the employer and were picked for the job that you have already earned his or her confidence that you can do it and think about making progress in the company, not perfection. Above all else be proud you got the job!

Hi! Congratulations on your new job! Here are some ideas to help you not be so nervous.
1. Bring a small notebook with you.
You will probably be introduced to a lot of people, so it's OK to write their name down when you get a minute to yourself. Try to include their title or job function, and a little note to help you remember who they are. (John Smith, family lawyer, black hair and glasses).
2. Be prepared to fill out paperwork!
Bring your ID with you, your social security card, emergency contact information. You might want to research W4 forms so you know how many exemptions you want to take.
3. Dress up!
It's a law firm, so until you know which days are dress down, and if it's dress down all the time, play it safe and wear something a little more formal. When you get to know the company, then you can make changes to your attire.
4. Set your alarm clock now!
Make sure you get up a little earlier than normal, eat breakfast, and know the route to get to work and what traffic will be like. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early, if not more. Then you can fill out paperwork faster and get to training quickly.
5. Write down any questions you have now, and then throughout your first day.
You might have a lot of training, possibly with a couple different people, but you'll most likely have one supervisor. Keep a running list of your questions, and at the end of the day go over them with this person.
Hopefully this will get you through your day with a little less nervousness. Good luck and relax, be yourself!

Have a glass of hot milk and get a good nite's sleep. Dress comfortably and learn to relax. The first thing you do upon arrival at your work place is smile and exchange pleasantries. Avoid talking too much on your 1st week and gossip is a no-no. Orientate yourself with your office equipments and your job scope. Ask questions if you have the slightest doubt. At lunch, join your colleagues but do not volunteer too much info about yourself or why you left your last job or how much are you paid, etc..Good luck!

Say "hi" to everyone you see and smile. Introduce yourself. Keep a positive attitude and if someone tries to tell you something negative about someone else, just shake it off and find out for yourself over time and make up your own mind. Be on time at work, stay a little late working to show you are dedicated and it will pay off in the long run. Just be yourself. You got the job for a reason. Good luck!

Accept the fact that you are nervous, that is a normal part of a new job. My nerves took about a week to settle down after I started with my current job. Give yourself permission to be nervous, excited and to ask dumb questions.
Your first day will be mostly just showing you around, meeting people etc. The second day will be more focused on training.

First day everyone will greet you. You'll be shown around, get some stuff to read, get your ID. It'll be over before you know it. Don't overdress!
First week is the hardest, from my experience. Just go with the flow, be nice and pleasant. And whatever you do, don't make any earth-shattering suggestions in the first couple of months.
They hired YOU! Not one of the other applicants. So they're looking forward to seeing you there tomorrow! Good luck! (..and they're lucky to have you!)

Expect to meet new people, to be lost, to feel nervous, excited, overwhelmed. Take a deep breath when you have these feelings and realize that every single person there had a day 1 also!

You should expect a LOT of backstabbing, and people thinking that you're not good enough for the job. You should also expect people to whisper behind your back and call you names. Its just the way that the world works. You can be nice and smile at everyone that you meet, and in the end, it still wont mean a damn thing. People will NEVER change so don't expect them to. Just do whats right for you and I am sure that you will get along just fine!

Girl, you are totally human to feel nervous; be friendly to everyone you meet and after a few days to a week or so your amount of nervousness will dwindle down to nothing. Good luck in your new endeavor!

A new job is exciting. Congratulations! Remember, you were picked, not the other people. You have a right to be there. Expect to do a good job.
