Anything can happen. but my opinion is other teams in the NL got better while Cardinals stayed the same so I'd have to pick them to fall.

The Cardinals had the series handed to them on a golden platter last season, as the Tigers laid down and any other team in the league would have kicked their butts because they played so poorly.
The Cardinals should be able to get into the playoffs by default, as there is little competition in the entire NL. The Cardinals took a step backwards this offseason, while the Cubs got better, but they still are not that great. The Brewers are a strong up-and-coming team with a young core and should be in the mix.
The reality is, the NL has no chance this season. The AL is immensly stronger, with the Tigers leading the way again. The Yankees, Blue Jays, Indians and White Sox will also be tough again. The Red Sox are over-hyped and they will be a non-factor this year, and the Twins have no chance without Liriano, and will likely need to trade Santana if they can't get a deal worked out with him in the near future. The AL West teams all stink too.

I see the St. Louis Cardinals in the postseason as the National League Wild Card Winner (because I see the Chicago Cubs winning the central division) but I do not see the St. Louid Cardinals winning the World Series in 2007. I predict the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series in 2007.

This is gonna be an instresting year with the question of repeat in the air.I know that the Cardinals have a very good line-up and there gonna score alot of runs this year.To be able to repeat everything will have to fall in place just right.I see them winning the Central, but I believe the Phillies are gonna be the suprise team this year, they have been on the brink for a couple of years now

Pitching carried the Cardinals last season, and their staff took a big step backwards during the offseason. So, no. The Cards won't even make the playoffs this year.

I love the Cardinals but unless their young pitchers like Reyes and Wainwright turn into consistent winning starters, it is going to be tough to repeat.

Absolutely Not! Lightning never strikes twice. A team 5 games over .500? Winning twice? Never happen.

Can they? Yes.
Will they? Most likely no. Watch out for the Mets, Phillies and Dodgers from the NL. From the AL I like the Tigers and Yanks to go to the ALCS.

Probably not, especially if they play as they did for the last half of last season. They were very lucky to win their division. This year it will not be so easy. Of course, they can always surprise and do better than expected. Time will tell.

No. The team got lucky last year and the pitchers pitched over their heads. They may make the playoffs, but won't go too far.
