I just reinstalled my computer but accidentally used the reinstallation CD from my old DELL on my HP. And now my sound isn't working and PCI driver won't install. Do I need to reinstall with the HP CD (if i can find the thing) or can i keep it as a dell and fix these problems?

Reinstall with the proper CD! This will save you from a lot of headaches finding all the drivers that you need on line. I'm surprised that it works at all right now, I know the mobos are different in these two computers so the mobo drivers have to be different also. Reinstallation is your best bet.

well, no issues if u have installed xp with a dell cd because dell cd's work as a normal windows retail cd unlike hp which provides a recovery disk. u can continue using dell disk on this computer till the time this is the only computer u r using this copy of xp otherwise it might cause activation probs.
nd now regarding the driver issues, if u can go online u can download drivers from hp website according to ur computer's model no and if not. downlaod the network drivers for ur computer from another pc and install that on ur computer and once u are able to go online download the rets of drivers directly
