Swami Vivekananda placed Hinduism amongst the world religions through his famous speech before World Religion Congress meet in Chicago. Adhi Sankara is the Jagat guru (Universal Teacher) and his teachings are valid even today centuries later and his Advaita philosophy is one of the three major schools of thought. There are many Nobel Lauretes. Present President Abdul Kalam is a famous space scientist. Rabindranath Tagore who composed the national anthem is a nobel laureate in literature. Rajaji was a wise statesman who worked tirelessly to get rid of nuclear weapons during cold war era. There are many famous cricket players. Viswanathan Anand was a grand master in Chess. Late M.S Subbalakshmi was a well known Carnatic music artist. Indra Gandhi (not related to Mahatma Gandhi) was the only woman prime minister of the world who brought freedom to another country Bangladesh. Industrialists like Mittal, Tata have become global business leaders. Lata Mangeshkar is credited with the guiness record for the number of albums released by an individual. Pramukh Swami Maharaj of Swaminarayan organisation is a dynamic force behind many exquisite akshardham (temples) built around the world. Swami Prabhupada of Hare Krishna movement established the movement with followers all around the world. Buddha gave a new religion to the world. The list is endless.
