It isn't uncommon for MTF transsexuals to keep their birth genitals for a variety of reasons.

It's also possible for a gay man no interested in transition to take estrogen for the feminizing effects it has if he can find a friendly doctor. It's generally the anti-androgens that are the bigger medical risk.

It sounds as if you're not sure whether you're a gay man or a transsexual woman. The best course of action at this point would be to talk to a qualified gender therapist to figure out what you want to do.

The short answer: yes. From what I've seen there are 2 views on permanent changes to one's anatomy like that. The first is that HRT (hormone replacement therapy) is for treating of gender dysphoria and you need a diagnosis and can follow the standards of care that would allow you to start taking hormones to treat your situation. Another is that transitioning is just another form of body modification for self expression. A doctor would probably be willing to write a prescription if they aren't super strict on following the Standards of Care.

You can but don't. I was on estrogen for 20 years and then got a blood clot that sent me to the hospital for 5 days.
