If you use magick (spelled with a 'k' to differentiate between stage magic) but do not follow the Sabbats or other parts of Wicca then you are considered a magickian. There are actually several religions that use magick and those that use magick without being religious. Even if you don't follow Wicca I would hope that when you use magick you try not to harm others and use it only for good purposes.

Nah your not weird.
Ha ha i used to do exactly what your talking about, ha ha i still got a fascination about werewolves and vampires.
I think its just what society is like theses days that makes us reach out for the paranormal and all the things people that society pushes aside and out right says does not exist. But its been proved that telekinesis and pyro-kinesis exist and both are considered forms of magic according to history.
I mean setting things on fire with your mind, in medieval time you would be considered a demon or such for doing such a thing.
I suggest you keep looking around and fulfilling your curiosity, because its not like any harm will come of it, and who cares what others thing, if you like it then who cares

Playing around with witchcraft is a bit like playing around with a scalpel -- unless you take the time to learn how to use it, you can get yourself into all kinds of trouble.

There is no such thing as a "fun and harmless" spell. This is not because witchcraft is evil. It is not: it is simply a process of causing change in the universe in accordance with your will.

But all spells have consequences: what you cast comes back upon you threefold. Would you poke your fingers into the workings of a large moving machine just to see what happens? Of course not. To witches, the universe is just such a machine, made of interconnected webs of energy.

If you don't want to study and learn how to use that scalpel, you're better off not picking it up in the first place. Stick to watching episodes of "Charmed".

Do I think its weird that you are interested in the paranormal, no its not. But I will say that you can't just "play around with it" magic requires at least some belief and dedication. Otherwise you will be doing it all for show and the "shock" factor for your friends.

You seem to have the wrong impression of Wicca or Witchcraft(one word). The Pagan religion of Witchcraft or Hex-craft and others existed long before we had Christianity and others like Islam. Wicca is not what the Christian Churches like to tell you, it is a real Pagan (also Neo-Pagan) religion with it's good and bad parts, just like any other religion today. Perhaps you like to find out the roots of this religion of old. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicca

Nothing weird about fantasizing about having special powers. Look at all the popular myths like Harry Potter, Superman, the Jedi, etc. that can do extraordinary things. Spells are just imagination so they're harmless enough unless you get obsessed with that stuff.

Thinking about anything on earth is normal.
Doing anything which is out of the ordinary is considered different by the majority.
Doing anything that few people do is considered weird.
Playing with matches is fun when we are still young, but the chances are there to burn the house down.
Playing with fire and we burn our fingers.
If you play with the forces that wise people consider 'dark', it is fun in the beginning, but hell in the end.
It is good to explore all, and keep the good, but can we handle all we explore ?
If you are unsure, look for people with burnt fingers and ask advice, or just ask the wise...

I am warning you, if you do not know what you are doing you may harm someone or even yourself, I suggest that you study and study hard, there are no harmless spells they all are a manipulation of energy and if you do not know what you are doing then things may go crazy.
If you are going to study it then I suggest books by Scott Cunningham, and Raven Grimassi.
I do not Suggest any books by Silver Ravenwolf what she teaches is wrong.
Here is a website where you may learn more about paganism and witchcraft if you wish… http://www.witchvox.com/
Hope this helps!

You're not weird, just curious. I myself have an odd "obsession," which is learning about genocide. My friends think I shouldn't like the "depressed topics" so much, but I love learning about the millions of different stories. And just because I learn about it doesn't mean I'm going to create one or... whatever else. I'm just curious as are you. And I encourage you to learn as long as you don't try anything dangerous.

Not weird at all. The ability to do magick is your birthright. The blessing of having free will, and a lifeforce we can use.

I have been doing magick for 45 years.
