I am doing an essay and it's due on Friday, can anyone help?

Here's the question:

Write an essay that explains the role that religion has played in the history of South Asia. You may include aspects of Hinduism and Islam, the division of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, and current religious conflicts (Punjab, Kashmir, Sri Lanka.)

hinduism establishes a caste system in india. this prevented untouchables- the dirt poor from ever getting respect. they were shunned from society. that's why most untouchables converted to christianity, islam and buddhism. so they'd be equal in god's eyes. they were never equal in god's eyes in hinduism, so by converting, they can finally be appreciated by society as a person, not an untouchable.

pakistan and bangladesh were established b/c of religion. i consider them all to be indians who are of different religion. pakistan was established when india got it's independence and all the muslims in india wanted a homeland and not be ruled by hindus. so they left india and est. pakistan whose main religion is islam and official lang. is urdu. bangladesh is also known as east pakistan. bengalis have the same idea as pakistanis except they didn't want to cross over india to pakistan, so they established an east pakistan near hte bay of bengal. so east pakistan aka bangaldesh is a muslim state with bengali/bangla as its main language. the official languages of western paksitan (modern day pakistan) and bangaldesh are different but they both were derived from sanskrit. hindi, one of hte official langs of india was derived from sanskrit.

btw, there are 854 langs in india and there are 5000 in the world and tamil is the oldest language and other southern indian langauges rule south india (the dravidians) and derived from tamil.

the mauryan empire was established by akbar who converted to buddhism b/c it was his way to escape teh bloodshed of a war he participated in. he promoted buddhsim more than any other person in teh world. he had pillars in the middle of hte streets with buddha's teachings, he constructed several buddhist monasteries and wall paintings (not frescoes or murals, its a special name, i forgot tho). the wall paintings revealed hte "jatakas" - different stages of buddha's life. after his death, buddhism was never promoted with such stress and devotion again.

there was also the taj mahal, a muslim moselum built by shah jahan that was dedicated to his wife, mumtaz mahal to show his love for her. a hindu never did that and i dont think a hindu would ever do that- b/c they should put god before their happiness.

there's a fight in jammu and kashmir since hte 1970s- it's over whether india or pakistan gets it. i think india should get it cuz technically pakistanis are muslim indians, so india should get it b/c it it belonged to the indian land mass when india slided into eurasia to create the himalayas. so yea, it should go to india. india deserves it more htan pakistan. there are also fights between teh two religions there.

there are also fights between islam and hinduism in india- all over india actually. some hindus would think some christians are traitors to india and not really indians because they converted to white religion aka christianity (this is waht i heard, not what i believe).

in punjab, there are a lot of massacres amongst sikhs and other tribes.

in sri lanka there are battles between tamil tigers (british ppl taking tamils to colonize ceylon in sri lanka.) and native sri lankans who are singhalese buuddhists. there are 4 mil tamil ppl there that wanted an indepdnet state and the singhalese don't want this. therefore there's mass, i mean EXTREME fighting between the two for at least 20 years.

The Middle East revolves around religion. The Muslims believe in "Allah" so much they will devote and give their lives to their god. Hinduism isn't technichally a religion. It's a way of life so to speak. In South East Asia there are a lot of communist countries that forbids religion. However there are small groups that still go to an underground church. Some even give their lives to go.
