Wind can go through spaces unless the are sealed. If the hurricane wind can get a hold of it, the roof will get tossed about and so will the house. The best thing to do is to go away from the hurricane area then come back when it is over. If you go underground, you might drown, stay there, you die, things go ka-boom, and the metal during the hot seasons will toast you.

Those actually help. If you go to a island in Florida, you will see the homes there with them.
