Truthfully, I would cringe. But, at 15 it's normal and hopefully I will have instilled the knowledge and maturity for her not to take it any further. I would hope she would know the consequences of teen sex.

Im only 25 but if my daughter came home with a hickie she would be locked in her room for the next 2 months and I would have her on birth control as soon as I could sex come with or soon after a hickie was not that long ago that I was a teen

ho no! it's ok well i would be very intrested to know exactly how that happened but the way i have found to approch this kind of issue is to stay calm and don't jump to conclusions, she's more likely to talk to you if you don't jump down her throat easyer said than done i know but she's already worried about what you will say so prove her wrong.Ask her what happened but don't call it a hickie kids call them love bites these days apparently they are 2 very diffrent things. i still remember exactly how my mum reacted one day when i came home with one the size of a golf ball on me she was histerical so from then on i didn't tell her where i was going or anything. Don't make the same mistake you want her to trust you and after all it's just a bite mark. I would be more concerned if she came home pregnant so gain her trust stay calm and communicate with her about realationships and respecting her body. good luck

I would be mad as h-e-l-l knowing my "baby" girl was out there with some boy sucking on each others necks, yea its not like she came home pregnant but what does kissing lead to in teens? SEX. I believe you should sit her down and have a long talk with her about the risk of not using anything (if she is doing it), and tell her all th dangers of what can happen if things aren't taken care of. Yes i would rather her come home with a hickie then a std or pregnant at 15. Talk to her.

A hickey equals serious making out (at least). Have you talked to her about what limits you expect her to set?

If you haven't discussed what kind of behavior you think is appropriate (and modeled it), then it may not matter how you react.

I would agree that teenagers are going to do what they want whether you like it or not, but they may not want to do certain things if it has been ingrained in them not to.

It's pretty late to start demanding a more conservative behavior if you haven't expected it thus far. But, if you are unhappy with her choice, then you really need to step up and tell her what is expected. Make sure she really knows the consequences of sex at 15, because she's very close if she hasn't already.

Be thankfull she isnt pregnant... i would talk to her about it and see if she is open to telling you whats going on. Dont be angry with her, just ask her about it... ask her who she is dating... act interested in it... if she talks to you about it than you can get her on birth control... DONT YELL AT HER... thats the worst thing that you can do... be understanding... tell her about your first hickie... make her feel like you are less or a mother and more of a friend... make her see the difference... she will talk more if she thinks of you as a friend...

Trust her she may have come home with a hickie and if she s telling you she is a virgin beleive her .trust is the main key to a healthy relationship and lets her know you care by beleiving her just let her know you are there to help her out with anything and soon she will come to you. Just like your daughter goes and tells her freinds what she does that is because she trusts them. see trust is the main key so just trust your daughter. Do Not take your daughter to the docter she will never trust you and feel you think she is a slut . much love kp

My advice. Show no signs of anger. Only educate and talk to her about the risks of underage sex, not just the std part, but the other part as maintaining her reputation as a young respectable lady. Give her a big hug and let her know you're not angry, just disappointed. Talk with her, keep the lines of communication open. This is crucial.

my opinion on hickies they are slutty looking, i would tell my daughter and sons having them or making them looks trashy and all they are is territorial markings as a dog would pee on a tree to mark his territory. Someone marked their territory on a 15 year old. And after all the girl is nobodys property.

When one of my kids came home with one I made a huge deal out of it. "OH LOOK, YOUR FIRST HICKEY!! ISNT THAT CUTE!! WOW WAS .........SUCKING ON YOUR NECK? WOW DAD LOOK AT THAT!" lol never came home with one again. Decided they were ugly and embarrassing....wonder why? LOL

And, you know this means time for a very serious talk with your daughter. Tough but we have to keep the communication lines open with our kids. I told my kids regarding things like this that if they were too embarrassed to ask then to email me or leave me a note and I would answer the same way. We've had a few talks with the lights totally low. But mine are boys and it was tough on me! LOL About this same age I also told them that if they EVER got drunk or the person they were riding with was drunk that they are to call me and they dont get in trouble. Im just happy to have them alive and with me. I told many of their friends the same thing.
