Mark Anthony - Julius Ceasar didn't really love her, they were together more for uniting their kingdoms so that Cleopatra would not be taken over by another country, protection from war.
Marcus Antonius (Latin: M·ANTONIVS·M·F·M·N[1]) (c. January 14 83 BC – August 1, 30 BC), known in English as Mark Antony, was a Roman politician and general. He was an important supporter of Gaius Julius Caesar as a military commander and administrator. After Caesar's assassination, Antony allied with Octavian and Marcus Aemilius Lepidus to form an official triumvirate which modern scholars have labelled the second triumvirate. The triumvirate broke up in 33 BC. Disagreement between Octavian and Antony turned to civil war in 31 BC. Antony was defeated by Octavian at the naval Battle of Actium and then in a short land battle at Alexandria. Antony committed suicide in 30 BC. His lover, Queen Cleopatra VII of Egypt, killed herself soon afterwards.

Cleopatra was rather promiscuous, so for sexual partners, the popular ones Caesar, who used her to cement his power and relations with the people of Egypt and Antonius who was infatuated with her and the Ptolemy riches most likely had no love for her either. Committing suicide with her was most likely due to the fear of Augustus Caesar's retribution for Antonius rejection of his wife Octavia, also Augustus(Octavian's) sister not to mention Antonius' betrayal. If anyone loved Cleopatra it was most likely her followers who despite being ruled by a Greek line still saw their pharaohs as gods and something to be worshiped.

traditionally, what a peice of c.rap! Cleo replaced into not appealing - she had a large nostril, and by no potential went around in Pharaonic outfits. the classic historians say her real allure replaced into her captivating techniques and thrilling communication. Sitll, I appreciate the Cleo that exists on your mind's eye and that of MGM.
