As a mother of 3 with ADD I can tell from my experience that my children needed more hands on style of learning, repetition, more one on one time with the teacher. Children with ADD cannot maintain their focus on one thing the mind is in over drive from one thing to another and the abstract or non concrete is very hard to assimilate into their mind. . The hands on learning allows the child to actually have the concrete thing in their hands to manipulate it and see the results. Try looking under adolescent learning disorders, I did a lot of research while my children were in schooldue to the school not being informed and the thinking that a miracle drug will cure all.

mostly by repetition. you can also break each lesson into smaller parts for the child. some children with add/adhd have to have things read to them even if they aren't dyslexic. i was diagnosed with add in fifth grade. it's been difficult for me. but i was lucky in that most school districts in my state have educational disability programs. there's also the section 504 plan in my state. peer tutors have also helped me learn. so if your school doesn't have a program like peer tutors, i suggest you ask to get one. since you see that i am speaking without any problems, my peer tutors and the educational programs have helped me. please feel free to contact me if you have any more questions.
