I'm looking at buying a silver ps2 (the slim kind)
I need to know if it comes with a built in internet, so that as soon as i buy it i can play games online wirelessly. (i have wi-fi)

As far as I know, it only includes built in ethernet. You might be able to run a cable from the PS2 to the wireless router, assuming it has a free ethernet port.
You could also connect the PS2 to a computer (with WinME or better) that has wireless and a free ethernet port, and share the internet connection. (The computer would need to be on and connected to the router to play online games on the PS2.)
And there's always the ethernet to wireless adapter solution. (Also called wireless game adapters.)

The slim ps2 has the built in ethernet adapter, you need to connect it to a router. It's not wifi compatible either.
So, once you have set up your broadband (with a speed of at least 512kb) and connected your router, you can connect your ps2 with your network access disc that comes with the ps2. If you don't have one, you can obtain it from Sony for free.

No version of the PS2 has ever come with built-in internet. You have to get an adapter for it, sorry.

Although it already comes w/a built-in adapter, you still have to put in the network disk and set up your online account. I don't think that you can play wirelessly because when I get online, I have to hook up the ethernet cable from my dsl.

You have to connect the ps2 to get internet. You can't do it wirelessly. They all come with internet capabilities.
