Sure, you can get engaged, but you can't get married, at least not in North America.

There is no law against getting engaged ... although there should be. You can be engaged, not married without a parent permission ...if you are underage.
At your age, thinking about marriage is all about the love, and the butterflies in your stomach. Marriage is all about paying the bills, dealing with Both Families, taking care of everyone else's needs, finding the correct direction - for the family - etc.
Today it's almost impossible to find a decent paying job without a degree... you don't even have a high school diploma. Families no longer live on one income ... you will see your girlfriend more now - pre-marriage - than you will when you are ... you will spend most of your time working.
Don't think so much about how awesome it will be to wake up together ... think about what it will cost to do that.
Don't get married or engaged if you are in love with BEING IN LOVE ...

I don't mind to sound judgmental. But why in this world would you want to be engaged at 14 years old. You are a great age to be hanging out with lots of different kinds of people. Being engaged implies being dedicated to one person. Do you really want that now?

First all baby you need to let your parents finish raising you so when you do get engaged it will be special and a FAMILY event. But if he is willing to wait 4 more years then do what ever its legal cause its only engagement but you cant get married till 18 without thier premission

Go back to school and study.. What the heck do you know about getting engaged? Nonsense! A brat like you should always consider in getting yourself in a stable position before getting committed to realtionship.

You can get engaged, but I would recommend not getting your hopes up too much. You're still a child and it's doubtful (though NOT impossible) that it will work out. You cannot get married however. Good luck...

you can get engaged when you are 2 years old if you wanted to..you just couldn't get married...not until you're 18.
so here's my question...why would you want to get enaged when you are 14? you are way too young to be thinking this seriously!!!
if you and your significant other want to show your commitment to one another, consider getting each other promise rings.
