Oh yes, Boxer would be our soldiers in Iraq

Who would the neocons+Lieberman be?

The Neocons/Lieberman are without a doubt Napoleon. You know you would have thought with the downfall of Communism that a book like Animal Farm would never be relevant again. And certainly never relevant in America. But here we are in 2007 & that book is more revelant than ever. Scary.

Great question!

The neocons would be the pigs, owing to their displayed hubris.

IMHO, Orwell's other book "1984" more accurately describes the current US situation, with Osama bin Laden playing the part of the character Emmanuel Goldstein.

Yours is a provocative question.

I agree that the soldiers in Iraq correspond to the faithful, loyal, persistent, tireless Boxer.

Pigs are the power-hungry, corrupt dictators - hence they'd be the neocons.

Napoleon is Bush.

Squealer is Rove.

Rebel pigs include folks like Colin Powell and - more recently - a number of fired justice department prosecutors.

Boxer would also well represent the American middle class.

The Sheep are, of course, the sheep.

Pigs are the Bushes and their friends.
Unlike the previous two answerers, I read the book.
I agree about Boxer----not the Senator, the horse.

I could see your point, but I don't think the American soldiers should ever be politically attacked.

If it's a "pig," it must be a liberal.
