It depends on what type you buy and how many. A larger can of powdered formula is about $20-$25. A large size box (about 400 wipes) of Huggies wipes at Wal-Mart is around $9 (Huggies are the best wipes, by the way). I like to use either Target brand diapers or White Cloud (these are only at Wal-Mart). A box of these is about $15, and the amount of diapers varies by size. The smaller the diaper, the more you get per pack. My son's size 4 have 92 diapers per box, which last us about 1 and 1/2 to 2 weeks. Size 2 is going to have over 100 diapers per box. These brand diapers are about $5 cheaper per box than other brands and I think they work just as well or better than name brands.

Depends, do you want quality or do you want to do a lot of laundry? Decent diapers cost between 6-9 dollars for about 3 dozen, which won't last a week. The price remains the same but the amount of diapers in the pack decreases as the child gets bigger. A big can of formula costs between 17 and 27, depending on if the child has special needs or not. Wipes are 2 dollars and up, depending on how many you get at a time, and you will use between one and six(my record so far) per diaper. Doctors visits, including pprenatal can be up there. My doctors used to charge about 2500 a visit for ones w/ tests, but I've got insurance that covered it all for free through the state. They don't cover after that for me, but the baby has free insurance for the first year of her life guarenteed, and thereafter if we're eligible.

Diapers- depends on brand.. Cheapest ones are about $6 for 30-40 or so (the bigger the baby gets, the less diapers per container-- but the price stays the same.. so potty train early if you are trying to save some money) Pampers or organic brands cost the most-- about $15+ for the same amount.

Formula- store brands about $14 (that should last you a week or so).. the name brands about $23. Breastfeed if you wanna save money-- pump like crazy the first 2 weeks when you are producing excess milk and freeze it (frozen milk stays good for 6 months)

Wipes- around $8 for a large bag-- and that will last you a few weeks in the beginning and over a month once they are about 5 months old.

Doctors visit- Having my daughter cost almost 30k, b/c of an emergency C-section after 22 hrs of labor... If I would have had her natural, it would have been about 15k. Her doctor visits cost us $20 each time (w/ insurance), but w/out it-- it's probably around $80... then they charge you if there's any vacinations (which there's a ton of them!) Overall, the first year for the doctors and health care will cost over $1000. That's not counting what the hospital charged to take care of her for the first 5 days-- and if you have a boy, add another $300 or so to it if you get him circumsized. And I'm leaving out medications if your baby gets sick and vitamins.

You can't buy a dozen diapers, b/c it'd only last you about a day!
LUV's diapers100 ct. is $14, the bigger the size, the less you get for the same price
PAMPERS about 88 is $18
DON'T BUY EXPENSIVE ONES! The cheaper ones do the same job, besides they won't even have the diaper on very long, b/c they pee so much!
SIMILAC 26 oz. is about $23, a few less for the normal kind, doesn't last very long past 3 months old! The off brand is about $12. Decide what brand you want, b/c you aren't suppose to change their formula.
DELIVERY....HAHA! About $20,000 for a vaginal delivery! No complications! My portion, about $4,000! (4 months ago)
Parent's Choice wipes are about $7 for a few hundred, they work just as good as Huggies
Doctor's visits depend on if you have insurance or not. Do you have a co-pay? Do you have to pay a certain %? If you don't have insurance, I highly recommend getting it or going to the health dept. for shots!!! They are the exact same ones and cost about 1/4 of the price per set!!! $65 at health dept. vs. $200+ at dr. office!BABY'S AREN'T CHEAP!

Similac Advance with Iron is usually about $23 per large can. It lasts about a week.
Get online and get a free sample of similac....they will ask you to enter info about your baby's due date, and will start sending you gift certificates for $3, $4, and $10 off any similac item. HOWEVER:
You can get the Walmart brand "generic" equivalent for HALF the price, and it is just as good....it seems to dry out a little faster and clump, but is good anyway....and you don't need any coupons to get the great deal.

Talk to your pediatrician during your first visit with the baby, and ask if they can provide you with free formula. They usually get cases of formula from their reps.

Wipes are about $8 for a big box (with 4 bags inside).

Diapers, depending on the brand cost about 20 for a large box (over 100, depending on the size). Walmart is the cheapest. We pay $18 at walmart for 104 size 4 diapers, and it takes roughly 2 weeks to go through that many.

If you don't have insurance, you can take your baby to the health department in your county, and they will charge you on a sliding scale...according to your income.

If you have insurance, you will need to take your baby for a 6 week, 3 month, 6 month, 9 month, and one year checkup. On at least 3 of those meetings, your baby will have injections. They are free if you have insurance, but can cost a pretty penny if you don't have insurance.

I see some comments from other answerers who mention the price of delivery. Mine was $40,000 before insurance paid for it. I only paid $1000 plus a few visit copays. But I had an extremely complicated delivery. Pre-eclampsia...they tried to induce labor for 3 days, then I had partially collapsed lungs and a cesarean, and was in the hospital for 2 weeks in total.

Hope this helps!

We never bought the smaller packs of diapers (about 28 per package). We buy cases of Huggies diapers from a warehouse club... 168 in a case for about $30. Name brand formula from the warehouse club also costs about $28 and a can would last around two weeks. A case of Huggies baby wipes from the warehouse club costs about $14 and lasts about 2-3 weeks.

With our insurance, doctor visits for the first year for us cost a total of $40. We have a $5 co-pay for office visits. (I'm not including the ER visit when our daughter had RSV when she was 6 weeks old.) The insurance is through my husband's employer and costs nothing.

Without insurance our daughter's first doctor visit (before she was on the insurance) cost $135. Without insurance the delivery and hospital stay when we had her would have been $12,000. With insurance it cost us nothing. Without insurance our daughter's hospital stay when she was sick would have been about $9000... with insurance it was free.

HTH.

Huggies from Costco, size 2, 224 for $40 = $2.14 per dozen

Doctor's visits at 14 days, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months at $120 per visit = $720 (but with $30 copay is only $180 out of pocket).

2-pack of Kirkland brand formula $19.57 = $9.79 for a 25 oz can

Huggies baby wipes from Walmart = $2.53/tub.

Buy diapers by the box, they will last you longer. And, search for coupons! Thanks to great coupons, I bought a box of Huggies for $17 the other day. Also, random fact...at least in Missouri...diapers are cheaper at Target and Babies R Us than Walmart.

Also, for my daughter, I buy Target brand wipes, the kind for sensitive skin. They're a little thicker than Huggies wipes, and, not as wet. Huggies wipes used to scare my daughter, because the wetter they are, the colder they are. You can buy a value pack of wipes at Target for $4.64.

Doctors visits just depend on your baby. Mine wound up having jaundice and being underweight, so inside of two months, I spent $200 on copays alone,(because she goes every week), and that's not including the bills I've gotten from my insurance for our deductible.

Formula is about $23 a can for Enfamil Lipil for infants. It's supposed to be the most like breast milk.

I would suggest going to Huggies, Pampers, Luvs, Enfamil and Similac's websites to sign up for their mailing list. You will receive samples and tons of coupons that can save you a bundle, the formula ones can be as much as $7!!!

you can't buy diapers by the dozen. i buy them by the box and they are $20 for about 140 diapers. formula...it depends on what type you use. i used the wal-mart brand because it's cheaper and it was $12 for a can. all the doctor's visits and shots for the first year are going to run you into a couple thousand dollars.

It depends on the brand and where you buy them. It's cheaper to buy in bulk...a large pack of wipes or a big bag of diapers. Wal-Mart probably has the cheapest wipes and diapers. Doctor visits..that depends on where you go, insurance etc.
