I agree with you that those names are silly - except one: Mercedes. Did you know that it was a french girls name before it became a car brand? The daughter of Mr. Carl Benz (the guy who invented the automobile) was called Mercedes, and he named his automobile after her...
Stupid baby names I have heard are
Pumuckel (boy - character in a german childrens show, he's a really annoying cobold. Why would you name your child like that?)
Winnetou (boy - character in a series of novels by the German author Karl May. He wrote books in the 19th century on the "Wild West" without having ever been there, and Winnetou is his hero, chief of the Apache)
Loreley - (Girl - From a poem by the German poet Heinrich Heine, about a beautigul girl who sits on a rock in the river Rhine combing her long blond hair and singing, and all the fishermen who sail past her look only at her, causing their boats to crash and the men to drown. Not a good name for a girl!)

well when i was in 2nd grade i was in school with a girl named shewonderful(no joke). boys name at the school my mom works at is Quayon
