Not at all. A position, political or otherwise, is a set of values applied to a set of facts. I accept that other people will have different values from me.
What frustrates me is that many times in this forum and others, the other side is making up its own set of facts.
See, there ARE facts. Underlying most economic issues in particular there are concrete facts and you can look them up, and those facts really allow only 2 or 3 rational conclusions.
But the Left, almost uniformly, feels entitled to just disregard the Census Bureau, Department of Labor, Federal Reserve and Treasury Department and just make up its own facts about income mobility, poverty, unemployment and other matters.
The "disappearing middle class" for example - it didn't disappear, rather about 15% of us are in the upper income class that, statistically, a generation ago would have been in the lower-middle-class. Nobody else has "lost ground" in the process, and if we keep tax and regulatory policy the way it is, and curtail spending, in another genration it will be 30%.
This should also make intuitive sense - after all who are all these people whose purchases have made Toll Brothers, Whole Foods and Starbucks growth companies over the last two decades? The already-rich ARE richer and probably have more homes - but they don't amass collections of McMansions in bedroom communities across the country! The already-rich probably eat better than they used to - but they don't eat MORE!

When discussing politics you really have to just be ready to agree to disagree or you'll end up driving yourself crazy. My family can't seem to be nice about it so we've just decided that all family functions have to be politics and religion free or someone will go home angry! It's very rare that you can talk someone into changing their views so say what you want to but don't think that it'll make an impression on them.

Bob agrees with Brenda? big surprise since "Bob" is Brenda's other avatar (one of many)...
Anyhow... It really depends on the situation. I know plenty of people on the opposite side of the political fence as me that I get along with just fine. in fact they tend to be the best political opponents because we respect each others points of view.
On the same token I know plenty of people who are generally speaking, in the same political party, who I want to punch in the face because their arguments and ideas are insane.
Your going to find wackos in every political ideology, the trick is to find some one who respects you and your opinions, even if they don't agree.
Opps Bob is now suzy Q

Yeah, but, I'm the Moderate, who is pissed at both the Liberals and the Conservatives for waging personal agendas in my office space, instead of leading my nation to greatness. They seem content to fling insults like monkeys fling poo. I really wish they'd get off their duffs and get some work done.

All of the time. There are people that don't know their butts from a hole in the ground. Or to be politically correct, as much as I hate it, are misinformed.

Only here and only when I started. Now I know that even the truth and evidence of it from reputable sources does not sway a liberal.

Yes, but it is fun seeing who can get the other's face redder somtimes. But there are times we have to see that we will never see eye to eye on certain issues.
