Medieval doll?

How do I make a doll look like something that would have belonged to a little peasant girl in the medieval era? (This is a prop for a theatrical performance)

i think back then, unless you we're very wealthy, your average doll would be made of cloth and stuffed with straw.

i'm sure there are numerous patterns you can modify, if you are looking to make one.
