Uni: one. Cameral: pertaining to chamber. Unicameral: consisting of only one chamber. Most state legislatures in the US and the US congress itself are bicameral (having two chambers: the senate and the house of representatives).

This means having one house in the parliament. Denmark and New Zealand are two countries like this. Nebraska and the Virgin Islands in the United States, the Australian states and territories of Queensland, Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory, all of the provinces and territories in Canada, all the German Bundesländer and the Italian Regions are inicameral as are the Scotish paliament and the Welsh and Norther Irish Assemblies. So is the European Parliament.
Having two houses. such as the Congress, makes for a Bicameral parliament. Some medieval Europen countries had tricameral parliaments with three houses.

Both answers before me are correct. Let me put it this way.
In our government and in 49 of our fifty states we have a bicameral government. That means we have the Senate and the House of Representatives that has the primary duty of writing our laws.
We have one state, Nebraska, that has a unicameral state government. That means that they only have one state government body that writes the state laws.
Hope this helps and answers your question.
