Watching American Idol tonight there was a commerical on for VISa featuring the song, "Downtown." Does anyone know who the woman in the commerical was/the artist that recorded it (I am guessing they are the same person). THANKS SO MUCH! :-)

Never saw the commerical, but if it's the song I'm thinking of, it was Petula Clark.

FYI, Throwing Muses also did a song called "Downtown," but it wasn't a cover of Clark's 1964 hit.

i in my opinion discover the classified ads offensive. i do no longer have problems with homosexuals. I usually do particular sources planning ensuring their rights and am offended that they could wrestle for those rights. besides the undeniable fact that, i favor to understand the way the gay community became granted an unique license at using the note 'gay'. The time period gay became initially used, until eventually properly into the mid-twentieth century, more often than not to talk over with thoughts of being carefree, chuffed, or magnificent and showy. it truly is what the note ability. And if homosexuals determined to pervert the note into meaning something else, who the hell are they to whinge about somebody else perverting it into their own meaning? both makes use of are both incorrect, so no I particularly don't have any objective of "questioning before I talk." and also you're all welcome to remark that "it truly is so previous lady legal professional" in case you want.

That was many moons ago! I remember when it was new, as a kid! " Downtown " - Petula Clark. Tunes like " On Broadway " and that tune that goes; " It's the time, and the season, when your blood runs ... etc. "
