I hope you had really great grades in high school and got high scores on your SAT for starters. Medical schools look at the high school grades and test scores as well as the prospective student's college grades.

Set your sights on several good solid medical schools. The University of Washington in Seattle has a great school with programs in all areas of medicine.

If your state does not have a medical school, don't worry. Many states have agreements with states that do have medical schools and you would pay in-state tuition.

Go to the best college you can. Take the prerequisite classes that med schools want. Go to med school. Kick butt there so you can get a surgical residency.
