There are little ants around my laptop and they're crawling into the cracks. Are they going to break my computer?

Yes they can harm the computer because there is fan running on the cpu if the ants go stuck in the fan suddenly the fan gets blocked and even the keyboard keys get stucked so its better you clean the lapt as early as poddible.

Well the ants really have no true interest in the PC other than they may be looking to relocate to a new nest or they detect "food", such as spilled coffee or soda.
The real problem ants can create is if they get into your pc they could possibly cause a short circuit that might fry your pc or some component in it. It's best to open the case and vacuum them out and make sure it is clean both on the inside and the outside. Put down some ant traps also. Just be careful other pets don't get into the ant traps.

esp if the ant dies in the fan and jam it. then u will have a fried notebook.
also, the ants may cause a short circuit.
ask a techie friend to take apart the nb, and clean it.
i think u had cookie crumbs in your keyboard that attract the ants :)

Yea definately. They're strong buggers. I spilt chicken soap once on my laptop. And after i cleaned it up, i had ants crawling into my keyboards and stuff. then my keyboard stopped working and after i disassembled my laptop, i found that they had chewed some of the wires that connect the keyboard to the motherboard. I guessing its not the wires that taste good but the chicken soap i made :)

Here is a little anecdote for you
My friend calls me one day
and screams into the phone " My computer is fried by a fu**ing spider"
The end.
The spider short circuited his motherboard and fried his entire computer.
I would suppose an ant could do the same damage

This is cool. Take a photo or a video and let us know where we can go to see that, please. I don't think ants are any worse than coffee. Probably they are just munching on some crumbs you dropped into the keyboard.
