The differences of opinion, and the different priorities.

Men and women just look at things differently! (Could it be because science has "proven" that men can only think with one hemisphere of their brain at a time, while women utilize both hemispheres simultanously?) I always tease my husband by telling him he can only utilize 50% brain capacity at any given point in time, while he tells me that women have to use twice as much of their brains to keep up with the men.....

Don't know how factual that "truth" is, but think about it....that would explain quite alot! :-)

Even though I'm female, I have more masculine personality characteristics--- I enjoy being around people who think & reason in the same way. But, I also have a side that wants to do "girl" stuff, so female friends are fun for that

Being treated like with respect and kindness from my male friends. Knowing they enjoy my company without a hidden agenda.
An increased level of trust and honesty with my female friends. More conversations about emotions.
I enjoy listening to each person share what's been happening in their lives.
It's a nice balance to have friends male and female.

I love having both because there are just some things that a certain person can help you with. If you are having boy trouble or you just wanna girl talk or something, you can talk to your best girl friend. If you have a guy question or just want to have "a night with the guys" then you have your guy friends. there is variety and you are able to have different point of views

Guys do guy stuff...play golf together, talk about girls together, drink together, talk about sports together, discuss politics together....as for my girl "friends"...we uh, uh, er, uh, I guess I don't have any girl "friends"...wasup with that...lol...seriously I have never had a girl friend where sex wasn't involved...or at least that I wasn't chasing her for it. I like girls and all but without sex what is the point? It comes more naturally to hang with the buds...ya know?

My four best friends in HS and college were females. They kept me in line and made sure I always saw issues from a female's persective. Plus just having friends from one gender is really boring after awhile, looking back to grade school.

If I'm having guy problems I can ask another guy. I even have a real good friend who is gay and a transvestite so I ask him make-up questions. They in turn can talk to me about girl things.
