I started giving some stage 3 foods at 10 months, but not all of them.

For instance, the vegetables or fruits are fine, but the pasta dishes didn't go well with my daughter. There are many many stage 3 foods that are smooth.

The spaghetti dinner really freaked my daughter out...even at 1 year of age, but was eating corn flakes and cheerios at 10 months. It is the mix of textures that makes babies spit them out.

She had two bottom teeth and 4 top teeth at 10 months, and also took her first steps. That is an important factor with adding more solid food.

I just started my 8 moth old on 3 stage, he is doing great with them with no problems at all. He does have 8 teeth though. I really don't see much difference between the 2 stage and the 3 stage!

I thought the Stage 3 foods were fine. It really depends on the developement of your child and how many teeth he/she has. My son didn't eat the stage 3's until later on.. closer to 1yr old. He was good with the fruits but the dinner with the bigger chunks he wasn't as good with.

I'd just carefully give the food to him/her and see how they do.

A month after I started the Stage 3 he worked his way up to eating everything.

When the baby has some teeth, and keeps chewing, she's ready for stage three meals. I personally started my son on them at 10 months. He also started eating things like small banana pieces that I cut up, and some cheerios.

Don't........they are horrible. They are smooth with chunks in them and most babies I know gag on them. Mine never ate stage 3.
When she was done with stage 2, I started grinding her food. The courser texture helped her learn to chew some. Then we did fork mashed. After than very soft bites of food. now she is on all table food at 11 months.
