MAC made me break out and look oily and "masky". I just started using Bare Minerals ID two weeks ago and I love it! My skin looks so much better.

Well I've had the same problem forever. Here's some things that have helped me out.
1- Use either Clean & Clear Oxygenating cleanser or the wal-mart brand "Equate" cleanser, it's a blue bottle and doesn't overdry, plus it's very affordable.
2- Skip astringents?toners, they tend to really dry out your skin...if you must, use them every other day only on oily areas.
3- Use a scrub: Equate (walmart brand) apricot scrub is the same exact thing as the St. Ives and is much cheaper.
4- Finally, finish up with a moisturizer... I like either Neutrogena's Oil-free for combo skin or for sensitive skin. Also Clean & Clear Oxygenating Oil-free moisturizer.
One last note, the Oxygenating products are really good but I would NOT recommend using all the line at the same time...they tend to dry up the skin.
For Make-up these products have helped:
A - Physicians Formula Mineral Wear products are especially for oily or acne prone skin and I really like them, Loreals' mineral powders are good too.
B - USE BLOTTING PAPERS !!! They work!
C - Once or twice weekly give yourself a mini-facial... wash your face with any of the above mentioned (scrub too) then dry and apply a facial mask... I use two diff. masks because of course I have combo skin and a mask for oily skin would just dry out my already dry areas. Try Queen Helene or Freeman masks.
It might seem like a lot of work but my skin has improved drastically using this regimen, plus all these products are affordable and can be found at your local drug store.
** Hope this helps! **

Sounds like you need to exfoliate your skin first, after, you should start out with a gel based facial lotion after washing your face. Try Clinique dramtically different gel. Since your face is oily I would also recommend a gel based cleanser. As for makeup, try a foundation that has a matte finish. Also use a big powder brush to put on some translucent powder which will help control shine. And don't forget

I suggest a 'hydrating' foundation. When I use anything other than a hydrating foundation I get dry patches on parts of my face, but I also have oily skin which I thought is weird. But yeah! A hydrating foundation will work amazing. The most expensive one I've used so far has only cost £6 and its been worth it.

use they body shop brand new clarifying seaweed range. it's specially formilated for combonation to oily skin. use the face wash, toner and day cream in the morning. Take your make up off with the cleanser then use the toner. use the face wash, toner and night treatment before you go to bed.
Always make sure you use a toner after you wash or cleanse.

Try puritycosmetics.co.uk. It is made from natural ingredients and gives your skin a lovely natural look. It is a powder foundation so won't make your skin look oily.

Just wondering if you use powder over the foundation. This sets it and should combat any shine you are having. For best results use a loose translucent powder and brush it off downwards.

first of all you have to wash your face in the morning and at night. make it a habit. i use st. ives apricot scrub...it gets the dead skin out... then i use clean and clear oxygenating scrug.... makes your face soooooo soft. Clean and clear moisturizer too. that mixture of stuff...gets rid of the oil by cleaning your face and moisturizes your face too! you can also get the oil absorbing strips. you keep them in your purse and use them whenever you get oily!
