"ever" meaning always - at all times - so the human heart has always dreamed of this
"fairer" - meaning a pleasing appearance, free of favoritism or bias or hatred, free of injustice, equitable.
"dream" - To have a deep aspiration; a condition that is longed for
"dreamed of a fairer world" - meaning a deep desire for a more pleasing world - a more peaceful world, full of love, without injustice.
"than the one it knows" - indicating that the world the human heart has known is not as good as it could be.

I think this means the average person has "imagined" a better world than the one that we know of more than anyone can ever count. Human heart, as in a person hoping that there has to be more good in this world than there really is.â¥

It means that it's human nature to dream of a world better than what we have known so far. It's the human need (desire) to leave the world better than we found it.

The human heart is referring to mankind. Mankind has always dreamed of, or desired a world that is better than the one that we have. Mankind isn't satisfied with the way the world is, and desires something different.

I think it means that human nature causes one to hope for a less corrupted world than the one we live in.

It's like people thinking of heaven, like life is hard, but heaven would be a lot nicer. Nobody's been to heaven, but many people like the idea that there's something better than this life waiting after you die.
Or, like, people in refugee camps or slaves or somebody confined--they might dream of freedom, of being able to control their own lives. They might not know what it's like, but they dream that there's a better life than the one they know.
In this case, "fairer" means, like, more beautiful, lovelier, nicer. I don't think it means "more fair" like, in terms of justice or legality.
