I have to make baseball cards of a few presidents for social studies and I'm wondering what colors will go good together. I don't want something really bright, but something that will stand out. Thanks to all!

Others have mentioned red, white, and blue for obvious patriotism for America. I think it will stand out with a translucent flow of the US flag in the background. If you're concerned about these colors being too bright, just dull it up a little bit. All in all, whatever colors you use, I think a good design will help make it look awesome.

You could make the boarders of the baseball cards to look like the a flag. Just go with the good old red, white and blue.

I aslo agree if you are doing Presidents, you need to do Red, White and Blue. You could pick shades of blue and red that was a little more muted and then it wouldn't be too bright and garish. But baseball cards are usually bright and gayly coloured!

I illustrate for merchandise with Xara software and am studied in the art of mixing colours. THere is a great new and fun website called Colourlovers.com. My Yahoo 360 backgorund is actually one of their palettes I made in my account and saved at 1000x600 resolution for a backdrop.

Lol, for Presidents (and I'm only assuming they're american ones) I'd use red white and blue in the background, you know, make it patriotic?
