I can't believe it? I grew up with the constant fear of my "sissiness" being noticed and paraded around for all to laugh at me. Aren't all country music singers and listeners redneck racists from the South or with southern predjudices left over from the 1800's or 1950's at least who want to keep blacks, Jews and homosexuals separate or in prison? Really? I can't believe it. I've been wrong all these years? And you gay cowboys out there don't mind listening to Willie Nelson or Travis Trit or whoever (see I don't know their names because I've hated country singers all my life for their backward bigoted ways), and everything is hunky dorry with that. And you go to their concerts and don't get stomped on by real manly men who hate gays? Even in Northern California? Really? When did these violent religious good ol' boys from the South, from the Country, stop hating gays? Because I can't believe you're not as angry at them as I am?

Hey! There are a lot of country singers and listeners that aren't hateful like that. Actually, probably a majority aren't outspoken against homosexuality. Many probably don't agree with it, but they don't bash us like you're assuming. I was born and raised in the country. I grew up on the music. Sure, some of it may be a little backwards, but do not stereotype all country musicians and listeners. Heck, some of the most gay-friendly cities are in Texas. The only problems I've had because of my sexuality was from city folks actually.

Wow, if you don't like stereotypes relating to your own lifestyle, maybe you should think twice before perpetuating the stereotypes of other groups. I happen to enjoy country music, and I'm pretty sure I'm not a homophobe. That would be awkward to be a homophobic lesbian.

you are putting a very large group of people in a category that may only contain a few who feel that way. you are treating them the same way you are so angry at them for so called treating gays.
