Talk to your teacher about your problems. He/she might be able to give you more time, and help you work out your presentation so you'll be more self-confident.

Everyone is nervous speaking before large groups. But trust me, it's an important skill. You'll need it all the way through school, and also in college and university (should you go there), and it's necessary in many jobs. View this as a chance to practice in a relatively risk.free environment (after all, you can't lose your livelihood over this, no matter how you do.)

Just pick three friendly faces in the audience - to the right, left, and center - and keep looking at them alternately, imagining you're only talking to these people.

i understand your fear of stage fright. the best way to overcome it is to pretend there isnt anyone in the room while you are presenting. just look over the tops of your audiences head and you should do ok.

on the other hand...about the actual project...i think try skimming the book, just enough to catch the main ideas and write questions about them. vocabulary should be easy...just flip to random pages and try to filter out all the words that you know already, to leave you with words that look unfamilar.

and no, there are no shortcuts to get good grades. as the saying goes, theres no free lunch.

btw, i think you should try editing your text for spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes before handing your project in.
