I need to write a 7 page novel revolving around some sort of crime, whether it's murder, rape, poison, etc. i have to develop characters and everything and i need some ideas.. Can anyone help, plz?

How about a story about a detective who investigates a serial killer who leaves clues that are specifically targeted towards the detective, but in the end, it is revealed that the detective has multiple personalities, and one of his personalities is the killer. That way it would a typical mystery story with a unique twist.

Wow, what a lot of really bloodthirsty people out there. Are you looking for something a little lighter, so you can still sleep while you're doing this assignment?
How about a group of people being kidnapped for product testing. No one has to die. But the people could be kidnapped, and maybe all of their fingers and toes glued to the floor, to see how strong the various glues were. They could be blindfolded, taken to the old factory in the middle of nowhere, and the glue tested, to see how long it would take them to get loose, etc.
It will take a page or two to describe the actual kidnappings, then some time has to be spent developing each person, both the victims and the masterminds and the thugs who carry out the dirty work, if they don't do it themselves. Then, they will be getting loose, some by ripping off their own skin. Some run for their lives, others stop to help those who aren't loose, and, of course, some hero finds a solvent.
And then, the bad guys have to get tripped up in their crime and meet justice. Let them somehow get stuck in their own glue as part of their escape attempt. In their hair and on their faces, etc. No one else in your class will write anything like it.

Do something based on Joseph Duncan in the Groene case. If you aren't familiar he murdered mom, step dad, older brother and kidnapped youngest daughter and son. Murdered son infront of daughter after molesting both of them. That guy is a real sicko, his life I imagine would fill a crime novel series. He is currently on trial in Kootenai County Idaho. Just look up his name and there is alot out there on him.
Or you can watch the movie Clue. Start at the end and open up layers so that you can find out who done it at the end...like a mystery

what about a law enforcer like a police or something who enjoys death and thats why hes in the criminal feild. then yoou can talk of how he punishes innocent people unpurpose and enjoys seeing them suffer and hatches like this big plan to do something bad but gets caught. its not a lot to work with but it was the general idea of a story someone i know wrote for a halloween essay
