No. I think beards on some people make them look like serial killers, not necessarily smarter. ;-)

Sometimes they make you scratchy.
I guess it depends on what your chin looks like. Some guys do look better with facial hair. Like, I can't stand to look at my dad if he shaves off his mustache, and he usually also has a goatee.
It's just too weird.
His facial hair is scratchy. Ugh. I don't like kissing his cheek if it isn't freshly shaved because it's like kissing a wire brush. I don't know how my mom deals with his 'stache and goatee. Maybe she's learned to work around it over the years.
