40 midgits if they have a weapon. They can't really hurt the lion if they dont.

both, depends on if the migits were strong and if the lion was small. Most likely the midgits though, more of them , less of a lion.

The midgets could swarm the lion and especially 40 of them and of course if it's a Detroit Lion it would probably lie down and play dead.

If the midgets could only use their bare hands. I'd say the Lion. Cause one by one the Lion would kill each midget. If the midgets could pick up objects. Such as tree limbs etc. I would say the midgets.
