Does Green Day really working on a screen play for an "American Idiot" movie based off of the 2004 "American Idiot" punk rock opera album????????

Green Day was contacted and asked if they were interested in turning the American Idiot Story into a movie. Last year Billie Joe wrote a treatment for the movie (a general plot of the movie), and has given it to a screen writer who is in charge of turning it into and actual screen play.
Green Day has said that they will not act in the movie if it gets made. Billie Joe said "We'll leave the acting to the professionals." But they did say they would have a part in making sure the story got told the way they meant it to.

green day are still making plans for the film, it's not even close to producing or directing but they are taking it quite seriously!:)
