Linux is an operating system like MAC OS X or Windows Vista. It is open source so it is used mainly on servers, business computers, and by computer scientists. People or companies can rewrite the software anyway they want to. MAC OS X is based on Linux.

linux is an open source based operating system that you can customise to your preference, it's not user friendly. its nither Mac or Windows. Yet it comes in many names like Linux Phat and Lixun Red Hat. Oh yeah, and Linux is free, unlike windows.

Its not windows or Macintosh. Its Linux!!! It is its own operating system. It is free but highly complicated to use. You almost make your own operating system *I heard that you literaly do*
